Meet Artemis, Dental Hygienist

It wouldn’t be National Dental Hygiene Month without talking about our talented dental hygienist, Artemis!

You probably know that a dental hygienist performs dental cleanings, but you may not know the role hygienist plays at a dental office. Dental hygienists work closely with dentists, specialists and front and back office staff. Beyond performing routine and periodontal cleanings, hygienists take dental x-rays, place sealants, clean rooms, sterilize instruments and much more. They also help educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.

If you’ve seen Artemis in-person as part of your routine dental check-up, you know she can give you the run-down of what’s going on with your teeth or which at-home whitening treatment is best, but here are a few things you may not know about our hygienist:

  • Artemis received her dental hygiene degree and Master’s in healthcare administration from West Coast University. She has been with Dentex since 2013!

  • Artemis grew up in Glendale, California and loves to spend her spare time with family and friends. (She says her friends are basically family 😊) One of her favorite things about Los Angeles is dining out and trying new restaurants, especially hole in the wall places. “Living in LA makes it really easy to always have somewhere new to go,” she says.

  • Artemis loves to travel and says her favorite spot so far is Cannes, France — “It’s the perfect blend of luxury and fun!”

  • As for hygiene, Artemis says the most rewarding part of her day-to-day is being able to help patients. “I love when patients come to me with big concerns and we are able to work together to resolve them, that’s the best part.”

Artemis, you are such an important and valuable part of our team! Thank you for everything you do!
